Personal and organizational correspondence covering issues concerning fat Americans and strategies for their liberation from societal constraints. Many of the correspondents, including Vivian Mayer (a.k.a., Aldebaran), the donor, were in some way connected with one or more of four organizations working for fat liberation: Fat Underground (Los Angeles, Calif.), the Fat Liberation Front (New Haven, Conn.), Fat Liberator Publications (New Haven, Conn.), and the National Association to Aid Fat Americans.
